Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 23, 2026

Our Privacy Guarantee in One Sentence:

Refresh Rate Tester (refreshrate.net) executes 100% within your local web browser. We do not collect, store, sell, or transmit your personal data, screen recordings, or hardware identifiers.

1. 100% Client-Side Local Execution

When you perform a refresh rate test on this website, all calculations (including requestAnimationFrame timestamp delta evaluations, frame pacing standard deviation analysis, and 2D canvas motion rendering) are executed entirely inside your device’s local browser engine (V8, JavaScriptCore, or SpiderMonkey).

No frame timestamps, monitor refresh frequencies, or hardware specs are ever transmitted to our web servers or any external databases.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

  • We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or physical addresses (unless you voluntarily send an email to our support team).
  • We do not record your monitor screen, webcam, or desktop display.
  • We do not fingerprint your browser or hardware configuration for cross-site behavioral tracking.
  • We do not sell, rent, or trade any user telemetry to third parties or data brokers.

3. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Refresh Rate Tester does not use tracking cookies, retargeting pixels, fingerprinting beacons, or persistent local storage identifiers. Any state saved in your browser (such as toggling between exact decimal and rounded Hz) is kept purely in transient memory for the duration of your active browsing session.

4. Clipboard Diagnostics Tool

When you click the "Share Result" or "Copy Full Diagnostics" buttons, our script uses the standard browser Clipboard API (navigator.clipboard.writeText) solely to copy plain text diagnostic specs to your local clipboard for your convenience. This data is never sent to our servers.

5. GDPR and CCPA Compliance

Because we do not store, process, or sell any personal data as defined by the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), your rights regarding data access, deletion, and "do not sell" requests are fully satisfied by default.

6. Changes and Contact

We may periodically update this Privacy Policy. Any modifications will be posted to this URL with a revised timestamp. If you have questions regarding this policy, please reach out to:
